WeedID Project

The WeedID project offers information to rice farmers in the form of image galleries supported by text in Khmer of the dominant weeds in the north west region of Cambodia. The image galleries offer visual information at each stage of the weed life cycle and links to government endorsed weed management controls. This is the first weed ID app to be offered in the Khmer language. The image galleries are critical to confirm identification of the weed for both literate and illiterate farmers. These apps are freely available and this is an ‘open source’ project with respect to the developer code. Photo credits: Dr Robert J Martin, The University of Sydney bob.martin@sydney.edu.au
